Got a burning question you want answered?
Here's a few we get asked alot...
1. What is an NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS Check)
The NDIS stands for the National Insurance Disability Scheme, which is a government program that provides support and funding to individuals with disabilities (referred to by the NDIS and workers as, ‘participants’). An NDIS Worker Screening Check in Australia is a background check to assess if individuals are suitable to work with people with disabilities.
You can find out more information about the NDIS here - https://www.ndis.gov.au/
2. Why is a NDIS Check needed for Aged Care work?
If a person with a disability who receives NDIS funding is being cared for in an aged care facility, all staff providing that care must have an NDIS Worker Screening Check. It is required in many Aged Care facilities in Australia, some of which we provide staff to.
3. Is a NDIS Check mandatory to register with E4?
No, having an NDIS Check is not mandatory to work with us. However, holding NDIS Check allows you to work at more facilities where we have work, increasing your options in where you can work.
4. Can I register to work and then apply for a NDIS Check later?
Yes, you can proceed with your registration if you choose not to apply for one at the time of onboarding. However, we recommend applying for it as soon as possible, so that you are all set up with access to all facilities from the get go!
